Completely Disable OnStar On Your Chevy Cruze

So you want to completely disable OnStar? I did too, but I couldn't find a tutorial for how to do it. Luckily it's really easy. You can undo it just as easily if you change your mind.

One downside: the OnStar system contains the car's compass and bluetooth hardware, so disabling OnStar will disable those things as well.
First, find the cars fuse compartment. It's usually on the left hand side, under the dash.
Open the fuse compartment. The fuse for the OnStar system is marked with a red arrow. The layout of this panel is probably different for other models.
If you have a car that's not a Cruze, there'll be a diagram on the back of the fuse panel cover. The OnStar fuse will probably be marked.
All you have to do is remove the fuse. I tossed mine in the glovebox just in case I need to re-enable OnStar later.
If this light was on before, it should be off now.

One thing to note, if your free trial is still active, they won't be able to remotely turn off the system when it ends.

They'll eventually send you a letter saying as much, and you'll have to briefly plug it back in so they can fiddle with it.

Anyway, that's it. Cheers!
